Methodology
One source of legal truth
CRARequired owns no legal text of its own. Every statement about the Regulation on this site cites an entry in the CEMarque Facts Table. Each entry names the provision it rests on, and the table carries a version, a release date and the name of the person who counter-checked it against the Official Journal text. The version in use is printed in the footer of every page and on the status page.
One evaluator
The scope check runs the CEMarque rules engine in-process. There is no second decision tree: the short check evaluates the applicability subset of the same questions with the same option values, and its result is a projection of the full verdict. A test run at every build proves that projection agrees with the full engine on every golden case. If the facts or rules change, both sites move together or the build fails.
Fixture-checked examples
Every example scenario on a decision page is a fixture. At build time the evaluator runs the scenario's inputs and compares the outcome with what the page says; a page whose example no longer matches cannot be served. The same applies to a page citing a facts version older than the current one.
What the site does not do
CRARequired answers whether the Regulation likely applies and why. It does not classify a product, choose a conformity route, list obligations, or produce documents. Results are "likely" or "conditional" readings of your answers, not a legal opinion and not a conformity assessment. The full cited determination, with role, class, route, dates and a permanent verdict, is CEMarque's; CEMarque prepares, the manufacturer declares.
"Not sure"
A "not sure" answer is never coerced. The result names the criterion it depends on, cited, and the question that resolves it.
Review and corrections
Pages carry a status. A page in review is served without indexing until a review is recorded on it. Each published page names its reviewer and review date. Reviews are carried out by Claude, an AI model, under delegation from CEMarque's owner: every legal sentence is checked against the cited Facts Table entry, every example against the evaluator, and the Facts Table itself remains counter-checked by a person. Corrections are dated on the page and listed on the status page.
